On they went dimly, beneath the lonely night amid the gloom…

Ibant obscuri sola sub nocte per umbram

— Virgil

This work explores the concept of “Becoming Animal” by juxtaposing performance and video, real and surreal, digital and tactile, projection and imagination.

Becoming animal is first and foremost not being alike with animal, it is the process of becoming, not a state of being. The process of becoming animal is the process of return. In this work, through the unfolding of space and time, one returns to the state of animality and transforms it to the plane of immanence — water dissolves in the water. The binary opposition of human and animal is dissolved by the intertwined interrelationship between them. The work aims to arouse the viewer to watch what was never filmed.
